He said the Israeli regime and Zionist settlers have recently escalated their attacks and crimes against Palestinians in the occupied city, Palestine Today reported.
He said Zionist officials themselves are now wary of the situation as they fear their measures, including repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and confiscation of properties in neighborhoods like Sheikh Jarrah could lead to a confrontation bigger than Operation al-Quds Sword.
Abduh said many within the Zionist regime’s circles are calling for curbing the settlers and deescalating the situation in order to prevent tension with Palestinians.
The name ‘Operation Sword of al-Quds’ was used by the resistance groups based in the Tel Aviv-blockaded Gaza Strip, including the Islamic Jihad, to specify their defensive operation against the regime’s latest war on the coastal sliver in May 2021.
The operation saw the resistance firing more than 4,000 rockets against the occupied territories, forcing the regime to desperately call for a ceasefire after just 11 days.
The operation also sought to exact revenge on Tel Aviv over its weeks-long harassment of Sheikh Jarrah’s Palestinian residents, whom it had served with eviction orders.
